WWWDot was a group project that I worked on with 5 other web development students. We created a website that provides a smooth transition into web development for a general audience that aren't familiar with basic web development concepts. This includes tutorials on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a brief history about web development.
Our team divided up our workload into specific sections in order to complete the project in a timely manner. I was responsible for the websites design, which included the website graphics, prototype, configuring the bootstrap template, HTML, and CSS. We had 3 developers in charge of JavaScript and PHP for the website, and one developer in charge of the websites content. As leader of the team, I hosted weekly meetings, and progress reports throughout the week to make sure everyone was on the same page and if someone struggled through a specific piece of the project, one of our team members would be able to help out.
Our team felt that introducing the general public to programming is rather difficult and we wanted to create a simple website that would be able to teach any user the fundamentals of web development. Our website has multiple tutorials on programming languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and history about general web development. These tutorials were carefully structured so that any user would be able to understand programming concepts, as well as having a quiz at the end coded in JavaScript. Our site used HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP as well as using a very basic bootstrap template to set up the Navbar and general page structure.
